Confidence in your care
The midwifery profession is ancient, documented as far back as references in the Old Testament and has a long history in its struggle to achieve professional recognition. However, this was achieved with the Midwives Act of 1902 and since then it is recognised as the most securely regulated profession in the UK.
As Midwives, we are experts in normal pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. We have all undergone the rigorous training required to become midwives, have experience within the NHS and hold Honours degrees in Midwifery.
We are all registered with The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and must adhere to the Midwives’ Rules. In line with the requirements of this regulatory body, we have to ensure that our clinical practice is up to date and that our actions are within our sphere of competence. This is subject to annual Supervisory reviews and equipment checks. We attend yearly updates on managing emergencies and ensure we are always aware of the latest research and current guidelines from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).
In line with the Data Protection Act 1998 we are registered with the Information Commissioners Office and store any documentation of your care securely. In line with the Congenital Disabilities Act 1976, these records are kept for at least 25 years.
In line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 our privacy policy is clear for all enquiring clients to read and understand before engaging with our services.
